Hotel Moroccan House, Casablanca

The hotel has its ups and downs. The rooms are clean and comfy, although there was a weird smell. The staff is friendly overall, but some instances were not welcoming. The location is convenient for exploring the city but not the safest area. The dining experience is a mixed bag with some disappointing aspects. There are various facilities available on-site.

The hotel is in a convenient central location, decorated in traditional Moroccan style, making it a great base to explore the city. The hotel offers modern and basic rooms with exotic Moroccan features, such as our awesome 4 poster bed, though some rooms lack ventilation and have slightly odd-smelling bedsheets. The welcoming touch of providing forgotten items like toothbrushes, combs, and shaving gear was appreciated. However, the service fell short of being great and did not provide a verbal quote for a stay at the end of our trip.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms were not exactly as shown in the pictures on the booking site, but they were clean and came with a nice balcony. However, it would have been more helpful if the staff had given a verbal quote for the stay and seemed more interested in assisting me, especially as a solo female traveler arriving at night. One staff member even asked for a tip directly, which was a first for me. The location was quite convenient, allowing me to explore the city on foot and visit the nearby Must-See sights like the old Medina and Ricks cafe. The hotel was close to the tram station and Marche Central, which offered a great collection of shops, bars, and restaurants.

The hotel has some positives like a bulky 90's CRT TV with 11 channels, which can be entertaining to figure out, and the service was helpful and friendly. However, the rooms had a dated feel, with dusty overhangs on the four-post bed, and the location, while central, had ongoing building works nearby that were a bit noisy.
